A Note From Barbara Carey

Barbara Carey - dittie founder

After successfully making a living as an entrepreneur for the last 30 years, I find myself at a point where I am being pulled towards fulfilling my life-long goal to inspire and support small businesses.

Being micro-brands, my companies have never had the luxury of a marketing budget. We had to be nimble and try a different approach and work leaner, but still be effective. With this in mind, I developed a viral, hyper-focused marketing plan and committed our small companies to it. The plan worked and we have since used this strategy of leveraging our time and money self fund and build several multi-million dollar micro brands.

Over the years, through trial and error, I have learned that if we commit to a little bit of marketing every single day then eventually our products catch on. I have also learned that the key to selling anything, including PR, is to tell a compelling story with emotional branding. Delivering the same story every way it can be told is imperative.

Barbara Carey - Women Entrprenuer Article

The time is now that micro-brands must team together. A small brand alone gets lost amongst big brand/budget marketing. In order to keep small consumer product business alive and thriving we need to sell direct. We are more powerful as a group than alone.

Dittie is a space for the micro-brand. Shoppers come to dittie because they want an alternative experience where they can find and purchase special things directly from the maker. There will never be a large company with small brand under their guise on ditte. Dittie is a social shopping and selling experience that deliver the sellers in one location.

Welcome to dittie!
